Love in the Time of Cholera (Spanish: El amor en los tiempos del cólera) is a Love Novel by Nobel Prize winning Colombian author Gabriel García Márquez that was first published in Spanish in 1985, with an English translation released in 1988 by Alfred A. Knopf. This is the story of Florentino Ariza. The novel's most prominent theme suggest that lovesickness is a literal illness, a plague comparable to cholera.
